Europe

AWO International is also active in Europe: In addition to humanitarian aid, we are involved in European networks such as Solidar and political lobbying for the implementation of Agenda-2030 for sustainable development.

In crisis situations such as the floods in Germany, the severe floods in the Balkans or the catastrophic situation of refugees in the Mediterranean, we and our partners provide humanitarian aid.

Humanitarian aid in Ukraine

The ongoing Russian war in Ukraine has already forced millions of people to flee their homes, including many children and young people. According to the United Nations, around 18 million people in Ukraine are in need of humanitarian aid. Since February 2022, AWO International has been working with local partner organisations to provide emergency relief and reconstruction.

Together with the AWO Head association and the AWO regional associations Rheinland, Mittelrhein, Niederrhein and Westliches Westfalen, AWO International was active in the acute phase and supports the people even after the flood.
