Flood relief in Germany
The flood disaster in July last year left a trail of devastation: more than 180 people lost their lives and thousands lost their homes. Together with the AWO Head association and the AWO regional associations Rheinland, Mittelrhein, Niederrhein and Westliches Westfalen, AWO International was active in the acute phase and supports the people even after the flood.
Social-ecological transformation in the welfare sector
The project aims to raise awareness for sustainability by making the connections between global justice and the need for a socio-ecological transformation understandable. Moreover it aims to develope options for action together with the target groups.
Our development educational program takes the challenges and opportunities of globalization into perspective and provides impulses for value-oriented, sustainable action, particularly in the welfare workers' welfare association and the AWO youth organizations.
Increase awareness of the 17 goals for sustainable development
The goal of the project is to make the global goals for sustainable development (SDG) of the Agenda 2030 known within our organization and in its extended social, political and economic environment.
