Together with national and international partner organizations, we provide humanitarian aid in the Middle East to people who have been forced to flee war and violence or who are in need of support following natural disasters.
Emergency aid and reconstruction after the earthquake
On February 6, 2023, two devastating earthquakes struck the Turkish-Syrian border region. More than 50,000 people lost their lives, over 100,000 were injured and a total of 26 million people were affected by the disaster. Together with Volkshilfe Austria, Solidar Suisse and local partners from Turkey and Syria, AWO International provided immediate emergency aid and continues to support people on the ground with psychosocial care and help with reconstruction.

Health on wheels: Mobile clinic for vulnerable groups in crisis-ridden Lebanon
Two thirds of people in Lebanon need humanitarian aid. People with disabilities, the elderly and refugees who have difficulty accessing medical care are particularly affected. The mobile clinic of our Lebanese partner organization Mousawat provides them with urgently needed treatment.
