Mediterranean

The Mediterranean has become one of the main refugee routes to Europe. And one of the most dangerous and deadliest: tens of thousands of people have died on the run in recent years.

Humanitarian aid supports people that are in desperate need, most bear no blame for the situations they are in. People who embark on the dangerous journey across the Mediterranean flee from humanitarian crises and risk their lives for lack of alternatives. As a humanitarian organization, it is our duty to help people in need unconditionally, regardless of their origin, affiliation or reasons for flight. That is why we have been supporting SOS HUMANITY's (formerly SOS MEDITERRANEE) civil sea rescue service since 2015.

Civilian sea rescue in the Mediterranean Sea

Since February 2016 we have been supporting SOS HUMANITY (formerly SOS MEDITERRANEE), an organization that is dedicated to save lives at sea. The balance sheet confirms the urgent need for operations in the Mediterranean: More than 30,000 people have been rescued and taken care of onboard so far.
