Venezuela

Venezuela has been in the midst of a deep economic and humanitarian crisis for years. In June 2026, the country was further shaken by two severe earthquakes. The state of La Guaira was particularly badly affected. Many people are living in emergency shelters, the healthcare system has largely collapsed, and access to clean water and sanitation facilities is limited in many areas.

We are supporting our partner organisation, Fomento del Desarrollo Popular (FUDEP), to provide rapid and targeted emergency aid to those affected. Our efforts are centred on distributing hygiene kits to individuals in emergency shelters in La Guaira. This helps to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, ensure menstrual hygiene and preserve people’s dignity in these exceptional circumstances.

After the Earthquake: Emergency Humanitarian Action for Affected Families in Venezuela

La Guaira was hit by two major earthquakes in June 2026. More than 70,000 families lost everything. In collaboration with our local partner organisation, FUDEP, we are providing emergency aid in the form of hygiene kits for people in temporary shelters.
